What is a Champion?

In racing, it’s someone who overcomes all obstacles to reach the winner’s podium. But in life, it’s someone who, with love and encouragement, champions us through adversity, helping us overcome our obstacles and become our best.

The Racing to End Alzheimer’s Wall of Champions is a way to honor someone who made a difference in your life. When you add your loved one’s name to the wall, their story will be seen by people around the world. A fitting way to remember someone who championed you. And once a week, we will be featuring one of our honorees here on our website and as the public face of our community.

Rada Yakovlevitch from Seattle, WA.

“Rada was known for her love and generosity. She was a courageous person who left Yugoslavia as a young woman with her husband to start a new life in Australia with their two-year-old son and then, ten years later, crossed the equator again to move to New York where she managed US accounts receivable for one of the largest European biscuit companies in the world. Her talents as a gardener were astounding. It seemed that even plants responded to her unconditional love, for which she was famous.”

The Racing to End Alzheimer’s Wall of Champions transcends the racing season. For a contribution of $25, you can honor your Champion and let others remember them more vividly. But the best part is your donation is matched by our Corporate Sponsor, Legistics so your $25 becomes $50, of which 100% goes towards funding the care and funding the cure for Alzheimer’s disease.
