Petey Haas was a working woman before it was the norm (the early 1950’s). She was a physical education teacher and then a middle school guidance counselor for over five decades. She loved everything that motivated kids of all ages to be independent, ambitious, superior and productive. Being idle or passive was not acceptable.

Petey lived every day, well into her 90’s, as it was the best day ever, even as her mind dwindled. I try to emulate her beliefs and pass them on to others, as she would hope.

And she would be extremely proud to see her name flying by on the purple “Racing to End Alzheimer’s” Porsche at 180 mph representing an amazing cause and team.
