Jean (“The Little Nugget”) was the loving wife of Ernie, and an amazing Mum to her three daughters, Karen, Janet and Christine. It is almost impossible to find enough words to encapsulate all that she meant to us.  Mum, first and foremost, and one of the best! Always there to listen, offer advice (whether we wanted it or not), or to simply offer up what will now live in infamy in our family as the “Nug Hug.” While the Mum part of her was always present, somewhere along the way she also became a friend, actually a best friend.

It will forever be impossible to think of her and not remember our road trips, shopping excursions, 2-hour lunches, her dutiful tide watching at the cottage, holidays or just any other random Tuesday. Mum always brought her spunk, incredible wit and even a little dance anytime she’d hear a song with a “good beat that was easy to dance to” begin to play. I can still see her dancing and hear her singing along to her favorite tunes!

Mum led with joy and anyone and everyone who ever met her felt that. Her strength was unwavering even in the last couple of years where she showed us her true grit standing up to and fighting everything PCA (Posterior Cortical Atrophy) threw at her. What she lacked in stature at just 5′ 1″ tall, she made up for in everything else. She was wee, but she was MIGHTY.

You are missed more than you can even imagine. It was, and continues to be, our greatest pleasure to be your daughters. We will continue to advocate and do all we can to end this terrible disease. We will fight, because you fought. We love you, Mum.
