Florence was my mom. She fulfilled her dream of becoming a nurse and a mother. She was able to work jobs that allowed her to be home when I was home as a child. She and my Dad were married for 46 years before she passed away in 2015 as a result of complications due to Alzheimer’s.

She was a Girl Scout leader, came to every sporting game I had, and was actively involved in almost every aspect of my life. She taught me to be strong and self-sufficient in so many things. She loved playing the piano and spending time at our family cottage.

When I got married and moved out of state, she loved to come visit us, but boy was she a bad map reader!  Her and dad got turned around more than once because mom read the map upside down.
