a call to action

The 2019 racing season is underway and we’re back in it! And this time, we have the help of a young Canadian kart driver, Daniel Demaras.  He’s working hard to get donations for the cause. You can help him out below, and even get your loved one’s name on our car. Make a difference. Donate now!

a moving tribute

Our new #23 Audi RS3 is a blazing fast racecar driven by fearless competitors and supported by a great Speed Syndicate team.

The national media, spectators, supporters and fans watching the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge this season will follow this Legistics-FastMD-ExpoSystems-FEL-sponsored car, emblazoned with the names of our donors’ loved ones affected by all forms of dementia.

100% of every donation goes to our charity partners. All marketing and administrative costs are underwritten our founding sponsor, Legistics.

about alzheimer's

Alzheimer’s afflicts 750,000 Canadians and some 50 million people worldwide, with tragic consequences for the individuals, families and societies grappling with its devastating effects.

A degenerative brain disease, Alzheimer’s currently has no cure. However, enormous progress is being made toward understanding the nature and mechanisms of the disease; formulating new treatments and diagnostics; and providing effective and compassionate support for overwhelmed caregivers. Every day brings new hope.

These promising new developments deserve our urgent, full-throttle help. The non-profit Racing to End Alzheimer’s Foundation is dedicated to raising awareness and funds for the cutting edge research, treatment and support services that will end the scourge of Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia once and for all.

funding the cure.

In 2019, our donations will be split among three deserving organizations. Baycrest Foundation provides care, education and innovation, and its Rotman Research Institute is one of the most research-intensive hospitals in Canada. The Nantz National Alzheimer Center at Houston Methodist is vigorously pursuing cutting-edge research aimed at delaying the progression of the disease or stopping its course. UCLA Cognitive Health Clinic provides much-needed care for families of dementia sufferers. Every penny we raise goes to a worthy charity partner.

Won’t you please add your loved one’s name now?

During our first year — in just 6 weeks — we welcomed almost 5,000 fans to our Racing to End Alzheimer’s page on Facebook. We have nearly 10,000 now. If you’re one of them, we’re enormously grateful to you for helping to spread the word and keeping this cause vibrant.

Now we need you to get back into the action. Post on Facebook and Instagram. Tell your friends. Donate.

“Let’s make Racing to End Alzheimer’s a huge success again this season!”

– Phil Frengs

about team demaras

Daniel Demaras comes from a family of racers. His dad Chris has won at Goodwood Kartways and earned nearly a dozen podium finishes at a variety of tracks in Ontario. His younger sister Michelle does motocross and is a budding driver in the K1 Speed series.

As for Daniel, himself, in four seasons of racing, he has won championships at Goodwood CRKC, Mosport CRKC, and the K1 Speed K1RS Points Championship. He’s won over 20 races, been on the podium over 30 times, and earned multiple pole positions. We are thrilled to have his support.
